Concordia University

Buetow Auditorium
St Paul, MN 55106

Builder: Schlicker Organ Co, 1974
Renovation by Grandall & Engen, 2015
Manuals: 3
Ranks: 45
Action: Mechanical key, electric stop

Notes: The pneumatic stop action had failed once in public during a major convocation, so it was evident a new combination action and stop action was needed. Some stops would no longer set on the tripper system. The nameboard was replaced as were all stop actions with electric components, allowing for a new multi-channel combination action. New keyboards. The organ was cleaned and all pipes given restorative voicing. A new 4' Principal was added to the Positiv. An 8' Oboe was placed in the Swell in the position of the prepare 4' Schalmei. A new adjustable bench was added, as was new lighting. Work was done in conjunction with a major overhaul of the room, including improved acoustics and reflective surfaces. In 2020 the blower was replaced.
