The instrument was severly damaged in a fire. The usable pipework was removed and the church now has an electronic. The pipes were used by Marin Organ Co to build an organ for St. Boniface Catholic in Cold Spring, MN in 2013.

Editor's note: When I played the dedication recital at St. John's Lutheran in Shakopee, the program was based on the requirements of a pipe organ in a liturgical church: play hymns, accompany, play voluntaries. I spoke during the program and "put the organ through its paces" to prove it could do all three things. After the program, I was approached by a nun who played the Fiss organ at St. Mark's Catholic, and she was in tears. She said the organ she played couldn't do any of those things!
